DAN AIR Information Center

General information about your trips onboard a DAN AIR aircraft

Because we want you to enjoy a stress-free travel experience, we offer the following baggage allowance, free of charge, on all tickets for passengers that pay full fare (all children and adult passengers with a valid ticket).

· One piece of cabin baggage with maximum dimensions of 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm, that should not exceed 10kg.

· One piece of checked in baggage of maximum 23 kg (maximum dimensions of 100 cm x 80 cm x 30 cm).

Infants (children between 7 days and 2 years at the time of the flight) cannot transport cabin baggage. They have the right to transport, free of charge, one piece of checked in baggage of maximum 23 kg or a stroller.

Cabin baggage- should fit under the seat in front of you. Duty free products can be transported separately from the cabin baggage.

We recommend you transport all valuable items (documents, money, jewellery, electronic devices) in your cabin baggage.

Please be advised that, if you arrive at the boarding gate with a bag that exceeds the maximum weight and size allowance, it will have to be transported in the hold and will be subject to a charge for urgent luggage-handling per piece per passenger per flight, available in the Taxes and tariff rules section.

Also, please note that space in the overhead compartments can be limited on fully booked flights, so we may have to transport your baggage in the cargo hold. If that happens, we’ll transport it in the hold without any further baggage charges.

Checked in baggage- The free of charge checked baggage allowance of 23 kg is per passenger. The weight of the checked-in baggage cannot be cumulated (pulled) between two or more passengers. If a baggage exceeds the maximum weight or if you bring an extra piece of baggage, you will be charged the excess fee at the check-in desk (details in the Taxes and tariff rules section).

If you intend to travel with extra luggage, please be advised you can transport up to 4 pieces of baggage per passenger. You can book your extra luggage in advance, during the booking process, or later by amending your booking. To do so you need to access it online in the Manage booking section where you will use the booking code and your last name as search criteria.

After retrieving the booking, you need to click the Additional service button, add the baggage, and proceed to the payment.

We allow the transport of pets- cats and dogs only- in the cabin as well as in the cargo hold. The transport is done by paying a fee and/or excess based on the size of the animal (details in the Taxes and tariff rules section).

For cabin transport the transport cage should not exceed 25,5 x40 x 40 cm and the total weight of 8 kg (animal + cage). The animal must be kept in the cage for the duration of the entire flight. The cage for pet in cabin transport can be made of hard (plastic/metal) or soft (fabric) materials.

The pet in cabin transport is limited to 5 pets (cages)/ flight.

Because the cage must be transported under the seat in front, each passenger can transport only one cage. If a passenger wishes to transport 2 pets in the cabin, they must book and extra seat.

Passengers traveling with pets in the cabin need to be present at the check-in desk at least 90 minutes before the flight even if they checked-in online. They will be seated on the last rows in the aircraft to avoid any discomfort to the rest of the passengers.

Medium/ large size animals can only be accepted for transport in the hold of the aircraft. We allow the transport of 3 animals in hold/ flight. For dogs exceeding 32 kg, up to 50 kg (animal +cage) an excess will be paid at the airport during check-in. The transport cage must be made of hard materials (metal, plastic, wood) and not exceed the dimensions of 120 cm x 80 cm x 80 cm. For more details regarding the transport in hold please see Article 9. 9 of our Terms and Conditions of travel.

Passengers traveling with animals in hold need to be present at the check-in desk at least 120 minutes before the flight even if they checked-in online.

In order to travel with a pet in an EU Member State, live animals must meet the following conditions:

a) they must have an identification microchip implanted under the skin;

b) they must have

c) they must hold a passport for animals, issued by a veterinarian.

On flights to/from Great Britain, pets are not allowed for transport.

You can transport your musical instrument in the cabin or in the hold.

To transport a musical instrument as hand baggage (instead of your regular cabin baggage), it must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and weight of 10kg so it can be stored in the overhead baggage compartment.

For larger instruments, but not exceeding 114x22x43 cm (height/depth/width) and 75 kg, you can book a large cabin baggage ticket (CBBG) along with your regular reservation. To do so please contact our Customer Support Team and provide the coordinates of the ticket you want to issue (date and route of travel, name, date of birth and nationality of the passenger and contact information) and mention you also want to add a musical instrument. Large cabin baggage tickets don’t have individual baggage allowance.

As the regular seat and the extra cabin baggage seat are adjoining, passengers traveling with musical instruments cannot book emergency exit seats, for safety reasons.

The instrument must be packed in such manner to allow securing with the seat belt and to avoid any possible injury to other passengers or crew members.

If you chose to transport your musical instrument as checked in baggage you can swap it for the regular baggage allowance (if the instrument doesn`t exceed 23 kg) or you can pay an additional baggage fee but please be advised we are not responsible for any damage that might occur during transport. Although we handle fragile items with extreme care, during flight (take-off, landing or turbulence) your item might be affected, and we cannot avoid these situations.
