· Deaf customers

· Passengers traveling with assistance dogs

If you need special assistance or have a condition we should know about (pregnancy, sensory deficiency) please access the Special category passenger section located under the name of the passenger and select the corresponding option.

Because some of the assistance services, such as unaccompanied minor or transport of assistance dogs, is subject to contingency, it`s best you select the assistance type when issuing the reservation to avoid later availability issues.

You can also add the special assistance service after booking confirmation by contacting our Customer Support Team.

Even if you don’t require special assistance, being a Special Category Passenger implies seating restrictions for safety reasons so please add these alerts on your booking, if present.

Special Category Passengers cannot occupy an emergency exit seats (the ones located next to the over wings exits and seats 1C/1D).

In case you fail to add the Special Category Passengers service on your reservation, and you book an emergency exit, please be aware that your seat will be modified either at the check-in desk, or by the cabin crew in the aircraft, to comply with safety regulations.

To ensure a comfortable and stress-free trip for our passengers with reduced mobility we provide transport, free of charge, for up to two pieces of mobility equipment and (including electric wheelchairs) and one extra cabin baggage up to 5 kg for medical supplies. We recommend you have a prescription or medical recommendation for the medical supplies.

If you need assistance for transfer through the airport or for boarding, please make sure you add the Wheelchair service (based on necessity) at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure. Please be advised the assistance in the airport is provided by airport staff so the request must be sent in time, to ensure the airport is notified. Adding the assistance service on your booking constitutes notification.

If you need to transport an electric wheelchair, it needs to be IATA approved. If you are not sure about the approval you should contact our Customer Support Team and provide us the brand name and model, battery type, battery details (capacity, voltage) so we can check if the item is safe for transport.

Passengers requiring special assistance should be present at the check-in desk two hours before departure even if they have completed the online check-in.

Crutches or walking canes are permitted on board. If you use crutches or walking canes, but don`t require wheelchair transfer through the airport, you don`t have to add the assistance service but you need to comply with seating limitations if checking-in online (you cannot occupy a seat located near the emergency exits). We recommend that you inform the agents at the check-in desk if you intend to bring crutches or canes on board.

Unaccompanied minor is any Romanian citizen between the ages of 6 and 18 years old by the effective date of travel or foreign citizen aged between 6 and 14 years old by the effective date of the trip, who travels unaccompanied by an adult, in accordance with the legislation in the field, unless the legislation of the country of his citizenship imposes a different age for leaving his home country unaccompanied.

The unaccompanied minor service is added to the regular booking and the fee for this service is available in the Taxes and tariff rules section. (for details regarding reservations please see How to make a reservation for an unaccompanied minor).

The minor will need a power of attorney from the parents/legal representatives specifying that he/she can travel accompanied by a representative of the airline. For more details regarding travel documents, we recommend contacting the Border Police. Also the minor needs to be accompanied by at the airport of departure and picked up on arrival by an adult.

The minor must be present at the check-in desk two hours before departure as there is additional paperwork to be filled. Also, the accompanying adult needs to abide by the indications of the check-in staff regarding drop-off. Please consider that you might be requested to wait at the airport until after take-off.

Pregnant women up to 28 weeks of pregnancy, without complications, can travel without medical documents.

Between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy a medical certificate, issued not earlier than 21 days before the date of the flight, is requested. The certificate is valid only if signed and stamped by a doctor and should include the expected date of birth, the confirmation that the pregnancy is without complications, and confirmation that the passenger is fit to travel by plane.

If you exceeded 36 weeks you are no longer accepted for travel.

We accept the transport of assistance dogs in the passenger cabin, free of charge. Assistance dogs are not subject to contingency, but the service (SVAN) must be added on the reservation prior to the departure date.

To travel with an assistance dog, you need to present a certificate attesting training for assistance purposes and all other standard documents necessary for pet transport (Also see link to Pets) as well as a medical certificate for the passenger.

We consider assistance dogs to be those listed in the following categories:

· Guide dogs that aid people with a physical impairment or disability.

· Medical alert dogs, which aid people with diabetes, epilepsy or other conditions that cause seizures with loss of consciousness and sensory impairment.

· Dogs that aid people with autism spectrum disorders.

· Rescue dogs that have completed training to cooperate and assist (for this category only the training certificate and travel documents are required; the accompanying passenger doesn`t require a medical certificate).

The dog cannot occupy a passenger seat and will be seated at the accompanying passenger`s feet. For safety purposes it`s best if the dog wears a chest harness rather than a collar.

Although, not mandatory for assistance dogs, it recommended that accompanying passenger brings a muzzle for the dog.

Passengers travelling with assistance dogs cannot occupy emergency exit seats.

Emotional support dogs are not considered trained service dogs and therefore are not accepted free of charge on board the aircraft. In the absence of a training certificate the transport can be done following regular pet in cabin/hold conditions (Also see link to Pets).
