Online Check-In

Dan Air offers its passengers a free online check-in service. Passengers are asked to present the boarding pass, which must be accompanied by the travel documents both at the security control, the border police and at the boarding gate.


SThe free online check-in service is available 3 (three) days before the departure time up to 4 (four) hours before the departure time of the flight.


This service is available for all flights except those departing from Tel Aviv. For these flights, the check-in process is carried out at the airport, before departure, and is free of charge.


Following passenger categories cannot check-in online:

  1. 1. Romanian citizens who have not reached the age of 18 (eighteen) years and are not accompanied by an adult, as well as foreign citizens who have not reached the age of 12 (twelve) years; a form must be filled out at the airport, containing contacts of the adult who picks up the minor upon arrival, and the confirmation that he is informed and consenting
  2. 2. non-EU passengers (not citizens of an EU / EEA country) on international flights, whose visa or residence permit for the country of destination must be checked at the check-in counter in the departure airport;
  3. 3. passengers who were previously refused entry to the country of destination or deported. Passengers who checked-in online on seats incompatible with their condition or baggage may be denied boarding:
    • 1. passengers with a special medical condition or with reduced mobility (WCHR/S/T)
    • 2. passengers carrying animals in the cabin (PETC)
    • 3. passengers who have purchased the right to carry fragile and/or bulky objects into the cabin on passenger seats (CBBG);

The carrier will make every effort to offer them a suitable place, if such a place is still available. Passengers who are unable to check-in online due to technical problems of the Dan Air platform, must notify the air carrier by contacting the Call Center Service (link).


If the passenger has to register checked baggage, he will have to be present at least 90 (ninety) minutes before take-off at the counters specially marked in airports for baggage check-in (Drop-off), even if he has previously completed the check-in formalities online check-in.


If the passenger does not have checked baggage, he will have to show up at the boarding gate at least 40 (forty) minutes before the departure time, having the boarding pass available (electronic or paper format)


In the special case of passengers with special medical conditions or with reduced mobility, the deadline for presentation at the check-in desk remains 2 (two) hours before the departure time, even if they have chosen the online check-in service. In the special case of traveling with an infant (passenger aged 0-2 years), the boarding process requires the presentation of the boarding passes for both the infant and the accompanying adult.


Passengers with citizenship other than that of a EU / EEA country must go to the airport check-in desk to check their travel documents, before going through the security control and border crossing formalities. If the passengers do not comply with this provision, the company reserves the right to refuse their boarding.


If the passenger has completed the online check-in, but does not present a legible boarding pass (on a mobile electronic device or on paper) at the security control, at the border police or at the boarding gate, he will have to ask for a duplicate at the check-in desk in the airport.

Check-In at the Airport

The online check-in service is available free of charge for the airport of departure; the passenger has the possibility to choose the check-in service at the airport or online check-in. In case of airports where the online check-in service is not available, the check-in service will be performed free of charge at the airport, before departure.


Dan Air advises the passengers that in some airports the check-in counters can open earlier: in the case of Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv), the check-in counters open 4 (four) hours before the flight and close with 60 (sixty) minutes before the scheduled take-off time.


Dan Air draws the attention of passengers to the fact that security control and border crossing formalities may require significant periods of time, thus creating unpleasant situations for passengers. Passengers who are unable to check-in online due to technical problems of the Dan Air platform, must notify the air carrier by contacting the Call Center Service.

Check-In Requirements

The passenger must show up at the carrier's check-in desk and at the boarding gate at the time set by the carrier, to allow the departure formalities to be completed in a timely manner. Completing the check-in formalities is the exclusive responsibility of the passengers. Passengers who do not arrive in time both at check-in and at boarding, regardless of the reason, or who lack the necessary travel documents, lose the right to travel.


The carrier reserves the right to cancel the reservation and not delay the departure of the flight, being exonerated from any responsibility for damages suffered or expenses incurred by passengers who do not comply with the provisions of this article

During the check-in procedures, passengers are required to show up personally, with their valid identity card or passport (as the case may be), the documents necessary to enter the country of destination (visa, health documents, etc.), the hold baggage for weight check and registration, as well as the cabin baggage for weight and size checks according to the limits established by the air transport operator.


We also recommend passengers to show up at the check-in desk with their travel ticket. Passengers are obliged to contact the competent authorities of the country of destination (for example: consulates, embassies, border police) to find out which documents are necessary for their trip to the country of destination.


In the special case of minors, in order for them to be able to travel on internal routes in Romania, it is necessary to present the original birth certificate or a legalized copy, if they do not have an identity document or passport.


Passengers are obliged to respect and obey all the laws, rules and requirements of the countries they are traveling to/from, as well as the Dan Air Travel Conditions. The company is not responsible in any way towards the passenger, to obtain the necessary documents for his trip or to comply with the laws, rules, requirements or instructions about which the passenger was informed, or for the consequences of the fact that the passenger did not obtain the necessary documents or did not comply with the laws, rules, requirements or instructions received.
